Experience our facilities, which are traditional yet modern too. All around, you will see country boats ferrying paddy or fish. Try fishing with the fishing rod in our pond or in the Pamba river. You can also engage yourself in various indoor and outdoor games according to your liking. You can make a village tour and see for yourself, life in a typical Kuttanad (this is one of the places in the world where farming is done below sea level) village, visit the world-famous snake boat, you can even take a dip in the river Pamba and feel how the body and mind relaxes.

The windows and doors open to the paddy fields, the river, and the garden allowing excellent ventilation and enchanting views from within the rooms. All our guest rooms are well furnished with two large single beds, wardrobe, writing table, and chair. The floor is finished in ‘thara odu’ (mud tile) which has healing as well as preventive power on ‘arthritis’. The terracotta-tiled roof and the wooden attic along with the wooden walls provide effective cooling. There is also a small verandah running around each room.

At Pamba Heritage, homestay family everything is traditional except for the ultra-modern attached toilet and bathroom. Enjoy the novel experience of bathing in the ‘open’, but with the assurance of complete privacy (only the roof of the bathroom is open, sides are closed; the bathroom roof could be covered on request too). Bathing in our specially designed bathroom offers you the pleasure of not only a cool refreshing shower but also the opportunity to watch the birds flying in flocks or the night sky with its infinite number of stars or the glow warm winking at you from the trees.

You may entertain yourself by watching TV or playing indoor games in the family drawing room. Even though telephone facilities are not available in individual rooms, if the need arises, you may use home telephone connection. The netted windows provide protection from mosquitoes and other insects. The additional net provided along with the cot ensures total protection from mosquitoes. All guests are being engaged by myself, Rajeev Thomas. I am a Software Engineer and was working in India as well as in Singapore. After a while working in Accenture Technology Solutions – Singapore, I decided to come back to India and join the tourism industry with my homestay concept.

My motto is to showcase the beauty of our location and our hospitality to the guests who visit us. I am full time engaged with my homestay and guarantee the satisfaction of our guests. We have a guide and a cook to ensure better service to our guests.

Reaching the villa itself is an extraordinary experience – a boat ride through the meandering backwaters with lush paddy fields and coconut groves on either side. Soak the sun, soothe your eyes and get ready for the amazing Kerala hospitality and a few days of complete bliss and peace, punctuated only, by a bird’s call or a cricket’s hum.

The way and pace of life at the villa is decided entirely by you – laze in a hammock with a book, take moonlit walks along the river, or simply immerse yourself in the water and feel the gentle ripples against your skin. For the more active amongst you – get an insight into the Kerala way of life – see the traditional paddy harvesting, go on a fishing trip and interact with the local fishermen, watch toddy (it is the fermented sap of the coconut tree) tapping and taste it, or simply stroll around the plantain and coconut groves, local landmarks, temples and markets. Ayurveda and Kerala are synonymous – on special requests, get a relaxing massage.
